Antarctica is definitly a place that keeps many secrets, its extreme cold temperatures make it one of the least explored places on the planet, for this reason there could be secret facilities, such as the famous Area 122.
The site is located on Ross Island, part of the Antarctic Specially Protected Area, or ASPA for short. There are currently 72 ASPAS, all for scientific research… but none compares to Area 122.
The mystery behind the Area 122 facility:

This mysterious laboratory has generated many theories and questions around it. One of the best known is that it was created for the purpose of searching for extraterrestrial life, although nothing has confirmed this rumor.
The facility offers scientists who work there a quiet environment without the media or third parties that can interrupt their research, and according to the information provided officially, they can focus on exploring the aurora borealis and the ozone layer.
The place has a dome very similar to a radar system, but the interior is completely harmless and not at all mysterious. Experts keep in touch with family and friends through a satellite system.

But what arouses the suspicions of many people, despite the apparent transparency of the information provided, is the excessive military surveillance that exists and that is deep in the mountains.
The facilities known as Area 122, unlike the main area, have military control 24 hours a day, in addition to being completely sealed and aislated.
Information has been leaked that there is no way for anyone to enter the base without authorization, and soldiers arrest anyone who approaches the proximities. Most likely, infiltrators will be taken to interrogation rooms to find out the reasons for their actions.

The mystery surrounding Antarctica.
Area 122 is operated by the United States Antarctic Program and New Zealand Antarctica. The research group has to work with old computer equipment that does not have USB ports, so that they cannot extract information outside the perimeter.
This station is the largest, both in terms of infrastructure and logistics, in all of Antarctica and has been operated by the same program since 1955. Since 1959, 122 New Zealand scientists have worked in Area 122.
The mysteries behind this facility remains, despite the fact that many researchers have tried to gain access to its interior, security far exceeds what was expected, making the outsiders wonder… What are they hiding?
